Doreen Virtue is a writer, meta-physician and a spiritual doctor of psychology. Her work is centered around angels, but also includes chakras, crystals, the Indigo Children, healthy diet and other mind-body-spirit issues. Her best-selling book, Healing with the Angels, brought attention to her work and she has since become a well-known and sought-after speaker.
Using angels as her theme, Doreen Virtue describes her philosophy as: “The angels are with us as a gift from our Creator, and their aim is to establish peace on Earth, one person at a time. Working wing-in-hand with the angels, I believe that this goal is possible. May your inner light burn brightly today, and all the days to come.”
When Doreen was a child, she was a natural clairvoyant who often conversed with "imaginary" friends. For years she tried to deny her clairvoyant ability, until an event in 1995 changed her life. While driving, Doreen ignored an “angel's” warning that her car was going to be stolen. The angel's voice continued to warn her and Doreen continued to ignore him. While she was parked, two armed men approached her car with the intention of car-jacking and accosting Doreen. The angel's voice urged her to scream. She did, thus alerting passersby and possibly saving her life. This traumatic event changed her forever and she finally began to acknowledge her gift.
Doreen is the author of several books, including: Healing with the Angels and Messages from Your Angels. She conducts experimental workshops around the world on psychological and spiritual issues. Doreen holds a B.A., M.A., and PhD in Counseling Psychology and is the founder and former Director of WomanKind Psychiatric Hospital at Cumberland Hall Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Doreen Virtue has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, Good Morning America, The View, and Donny and Marie. She is a contributing writer for several monthly magazines, including:
