Wellness on Wednesday is all about the natural you!
Feeling emotionally, physically or mentally worn out after a long day? Take the plunge.
One of the best ways to pull toxins out of the body is to go for a dip in the ocean. The salt water helps the body cleanse through the pores of your body.
If you dont live by the beach, stock up on 3 staple and affordable detox ingredients: Epsom salt, baking soda, sea salt and do a little detoxing at home.
1/3 C Epsom salt
1/3 C Sea Salt
1/3 C Baking Soda
Soak time: 15-20 minutes
3 drops lavendar essential oil (optional, for added relaxation)
About a year ago one of my yoga teachers introduced me to this little bottle of liquid healing. The ambrosia of all essential oils. Di-Gize is an essential oil blend of tarragon, ginger, peppermint, juniper, fennel, lemongrass, anise, and patchouli, and works by aiding the digestive system. Its made by Young Living, my favorite essential oil company. Anytime I have an upset stomach I simply put a few drops on my hand, rub it on my stomach, and within thirty minutes or less Im cured. Its amazing! I like to take it with me when Im traveling and trying new foods or whenever my stomach is feeling a little off. Heres a little secret- after you rub it on your stomach, lick your hand to speed up the process. If rubbing and licking isnt your style, just pour a few drops in a glass of water and enjoy.
On Mondays we share our ideas to help you kick-start your week!
See for yourself what a difference flowers can make. Take your office space from this…
to this!
These photos were taken in our NY office (thank you guys!) and they show that, without a doubt, a simple addition of flowers can brighten any room. Bring some to the office, your home, or to a friend. Spread the joy!
In ancient China, astrological observations were performed for practical purposes, such as keeping track of the civil calendar. Any anomalies in the celestial bodies were noted as an imbalance in the world and also as omens, either good or bad, for the current Emperor. The event of greatest concern, as you might imagine, was a solar eclipse.
With so much buzz in China these days and the Olympics starting in just one week, I wonder the ancients would think of today’s eclipse?
Last year, I took my first trip to Japan. In preparation for my excursion, I talked to a few friends who had recently traveled to the distant country and read through a Lonely Planet travel guide. I learned how to pronounce the essentials (konnichiwa, sumimasen, arigato gozaimasu), knew to expect red beanand not chocolatefilled pastries, armed myself with small gifts to offer in return for kindness and hospitality, and was instructed to always carry a hand towel.
Why a hand towel? It seems that most of the public restrooms in Japan do not supply paper towels. Instead, everyone totes their own personal towel. At first, this seemed odd, but then it hit me what a great idea! When I think of all the paper towels that are used in the US every day, I wonder why this simple solution has not yet been adopted.
So, in the spirit of the environment, I offer the idea of the ultimate eco-towel: a portable hand towel. Save some trees, spread the word, and carry your own!
