If you fancy a little spot of pampering in leafy Primrose Hill, head to the Fern Skin Clinic on England’s Lane – the perfect  excuse to venture into a rather nice part of town. The staff are welcoming and the treatment rooms are completely relaxing as you’d expect, but so dark I wonder how the Fern specialists found their way around my face when I came in for a facial earlier in the week.

What I’d expected to be a mere facial turned into a lengthy, indulgent facial plus an arm and leg massage!  Truly amazing! (if slightly embarrassing as I‘m currently preparing for a leg wax!) 

The products they used were the new Alpha-H range which, after a thorough cleanse, started off with Glycolic Mask which is apparently somewhere in between a damn good exfoliation and a peel. I have to admit to feeling slightly unnerved when the term “peel” was mentioned but, after it was explained to me that this substance naturally occurs in Sugar Cane it was enough to send me back to relaxation heaven once I melted into the mask and accompanying cling film.  The best was yet to come though – the face massage. It was SO relaxing I started at least four dreams and I’m convinced I was snoring at one point!

The whole range is based around effective natural and botanical ingredients which aim to restore elasticity and suppleness to the skin. For someone who doesn’t usually treat themselves to such indulgence I’m completely sold! A pleasant surprise was that the prices didn’t seem to reflect the location.

My face was softer than a baby’s bottom when I left there, and remains to be 3 days later!
